Research aimed at discovering the cause of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (abnormal spinal curvature). Scoliosis is the most common spinal deformity affecting children, with an estimated 3 million new cases of the condition diagnosed in the United States each year. The hope is that funding for research that identifies the cause will ultimately lead to a cure for this crippling disease.

Additional research funding for developing methods to mitigate concussion related injuries through the development of novel new treatment protocols. Funding for research aimed at lessening the symptoms of concussion is a priority, as there is no effective treatment other than rest and activity restricting for this serious disorder at this time.
